DMV Handbooks by State
Last updated:
The official driver handbook is the single most important free study tool for your written test, every question on the real exam comes from it. Below are direct links to the official handbook for each state we currently support. These open on the state agency’s own website, which is always the authoritative source.
How to study the handbook efficiently
You do not have to memorize the handbook cover to cover. Read it once to get the full picture, then focus your time on the high-yield sections: road signs and their shapes and colors, right-of-way rules, speed limits and following distance, parking restrictions, and the laws around alcohol and drugs. After each reading session, take a practice test on the matching topic so you find out immediately what stuck and what did not.
